A Tale of Three Kings

I have recently finished reading, "A Tale of Three Kings". I believe it is written by Gene Edwards. My Pastor told us in church that it was his favorite book ever, so I knew I had to read it. Man is it good! Very powerful! I am sure I will read it many more times. It is a short book, easy to read in a couple of hours. There is so much meaning in that I am sure I will get new revelation each time I read it. This book speaks of a brokenness that is essential to every Christian. We often wonder why we have to go through hard times - one big reason is that we can never truly be humble unless we are broken. We can never be fully used by Christ until we are broken. I don't believe that God causes bad things to come upon us, but I believe that sometimes he lets circumstances remain in order to build the character that we need to be used by Him.
Another amazing thing about the book, it points out the character of King David when being chased by King Saul. King Saul wanted David's life. The amazing thing is that when Saul threw spears at David, David NEVER threw them back. The book shows a parallel to our own lives, in that when spears are thrown at us, do we throw back or do we act like David and not render evil for evil? It's good, you will just have to read it!
