St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patty's Day! Here is a picture of my little leprechaun. I guess she wanted to make sure that she didn't get pinched!
We are mostly on spring break but I gave the girls a little fun assignment today to write a poem about the color green. So far, only Ali and I have ours done. Mine is really terrible but I thought I would share it for fun anyway...
Here is Ali's:
Summer's Color Green
I love to swing on summer's green trees
because the color green is not mean
it's oh so sweet
summer's green grass lays beneath my feet
it's such a treat
I pick flowers with green stems
then I climb my trees big limbs
I love summer's color green
it can be so many things
It can be the grass or the leaves
or even a little bumble bee (with a cold)
the color green is very special
I was told. The End
I love it!!!!
Here's mine:
Oh Ode to Green
Green, green
you make me want to sing
leaves you turn green
grass you turn green and burst into spring.
When I go to the fridge
to find a casserole I forgot
green is the color
that I really hope it is not.
Oh green is the color
of apples so tart
of broccoli and salad
you make me fart
Green, green
To you I must say
Top 'O the morning and
Happy Saint Patrick's Day.
